We are through-the-roof excited about baptism in the Huehuetoca congregation. While heaven (and we join them) rejoices when someone returns to God, we have been praying for and encouraging one individual in particular for some time now. Please let me give some background as I share this news with you.
A few years ago, the Peralta family brought their children to our Summer event in the park because it was fun and free. The seeds of truth that were sewn into their lives took root. About a year ago, Marlen and her daughter Daniela were immersed into Christ. Marlen has grown by leaps and bounds in her faith. She is a little bitty person physically and she has such a huge faith. Her husband, Israel, as is the case with many men in general, moves more cautiously when big faith steps are involved. Marlen has been praying. We have been praying with her. We have all trusted in the promise and advice of 1 Peter 3:1-2.
After Sunday morning worship recently, Marlen spoke with the leaders of the King of Kings Christian church on behalf of her husband and at his request so that they would visit them in their home in order to help answer Israel’s questions and to help him become a part of the family of God. One of the hurdles in Israel’s life is his demanding work schedule. Because of it he is not always able to participate in the worship and ministry of King of Kings as was the case on this particular day.
As I wrote from the beginning, we are very excited. So please join with us in praising God! Join with us in praying for Israel and his family. And look for photos to be posted soon in this blog after Israel’s baptism.
